Rehearsals

The chorus is divided into two sections, based on age. The younger participants rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 4:30-6:00 PM and the older participants on Thursday evenings from 4:30-6:00 PM. Rehearsals are held at the Atlas Performing Arts Center, 1333 H St. NE, Washington, DC.

Performance attire

In addition to tuition, participants will be responsible for having the appropriate performance attire.  The uniform will be very basic, and is aimed at maintaining affordability.  .

Parental Responsibilities

The AYC is intended to be a family experience.  Our hope is that participation in the program will not only enhance and strengthen the lives of the participants, but also strengthen the community.  Parents will be asked to assist in a variety of ways, and will be encouraged to remain present during rehearsals on a rotating basis.  Fundraising is vital to the success of the organization, and each family will be asked to participate in fundraising activities.  Likewise, parents will be responsible for having participants at rehearsals and performances on time, and to assist with activities related to such functions such as setup, cleanup (if necessary), receptions, and concert sales (CD’s, chorus apparel, etc.).
